Amsterdam's public transport service(GVB) is made up  of Trams , Buses and the Metro and is relatively fast and frequent. The city is divided in "Zones"; travelling between zones is more expensive than travelling within a single zone. Tourists will probably use a maximum of two zones. Tickets are available from the driver, tobacconists, GVB or, in case of the subway, from vending machines.
